Video Spotlight: “Under Pressure / Ice Ice Baby”

In today’s video spotlight, we feature Jedward, an Irish duo consisting of identical twins John and Edward Grimes – who are known for their appearances on the British television show The X-Factor. The song is a mash up on Queen’s “Under Pressure” and Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby.”

Since appearing on the show, the duo has recorded the track with none other than Vanilla Ice himself.

Today’s Video Spotlight focuses on a new release I posted about earlier this week, Carolina Chocolate Drops‘ organic cover of Blu Cantrell‘s 2001 track “Hit ‘Em Up Style.” This video was recorded at WDVX’s Blue Plate Special (Knoxville, TN).

  • On March 2nd, The Gaslight Anthem, Living Colour, Matt Nathanson, The Smithereens, Bettye LaVette, and Bobby McFerrin (among others) will be paying tribute to The Who at Carnegie Hall in NYC. 100% of the net proceeds from this event to benefit: Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools, Church Street School for Music & Art, The Pinwheel Project, Music Unites, The American Symphony Orchestra and Young Audiences New York. Last night, the remake of “We Are The World” (which benefits Haiti) premiered during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
